By purchasing from or using Slate & Serif, you agree to these Terms of Service. These Terms apply to our online store, downloadable digital products and The Slate & Serif Digital Planner web application. Product-specific information shown before purchase forms part of these Terms.

1. Digital products and planner access

Slate & Serif sells digital products. No physical product is supplied unless the product page clearly says otherwise.

Some products, such as templates, sticker files or cover files, may be delivered as a download or third-party template link. The Slate & Serif Digital Planner is different: it is an account-based web application used in a supported browser. It is not a PDF, downloadable planner file or native App Store application.

To activate a planner purchase, use the same email address used at checkout, sign in to a verified Slate & Serif account and enter the numeric order number from the purchase confirmation. Access is personal, non-transferable and limited to the product, edition, tier, dates and capabilities shown at purchase and activation.

2. Launch-edition access and Archive Mode

The current launch edition covers planner dates from 1 September 2026 through 31 December 2027. Paid access is editable through the end of 31 December 2027 in Sydney time. After that editing period, paid access moves to Archive Mode. Archive Mode lets you read and export retained planner content, but does not allow editing, saving new changes, uploading media, scheduling reminders or synchronising calendar items.

Archive access remains subject to account security, these Terms, applicable law, supported export formats and the retention and deletion practices described in our Privacy Policy. A refund, chargeback, fraud finding or material breach may change or revoke the associated entitlement where permitted by law.

3. Foundation trial

An eligible person may start one seven-day Foundation trial per verified Slate & Serif account. The trial does not require a payment card and lasts exactly 168 hours from server-recorded activation. It includes core Foundation planner access only. Premium features, private sticker uploads and post-trial Archive Mode are not included. The trial ends automatically and does not auto-renew or create a charge. A paid entitlement is separate and is not shortened by a trial.

4. Foundation, Premium and optional integrations

Foundation includes core planning, browser encryption, saving, recovery choices and export. Premium adds only the capabilities identified on the product page or at checkout. Availability of Google or Microsoft calendar connections, browser notifications and other external integrations may depend on platform support, the selected tier, customer consent and whether that integration has been publicly commissioned. We will not treat an uncommissioned integration as part of the available purchase.

External services have their own terms and availability. Connecting an external service is optional. You may disconnect it, subject to the secure-disconnection steps shown in the planner.

5. Planner privacy and recovery choices

Planner content is encrypted in your browser before it is stored. During first use, you choose a protection and recovery mode.

With account-only, planner PIN or planner-password protection, Slate & Serif can assist with recovery after account verification. These modes are private and encrypted, but they are not zero knowledge.

With Maximum Privacy, only your passphrase or downloadable recovery code can restore your planner content. Slate & Serif cannot recover it. If you lose both, the loss is permanent. You are responsible for storing the recovery code securely and separately.

6. Personal use and intellectual property

Unless a product page expressly grants a different licence, your purchase is for your personal use. You must not resell, redistribute, share, copy, reproduce, sublicense or claim Slate & Serif products, files, template links, catalogue assets or application content as your own.

Slate & Serif and its licensors retain ownership of the application, designs, templates, files, graphics, catalogue assets and written content. Buying a product grants the stated right to use it; it does not transfer copyright or ownership.

You retain your rights in the content you enter into your planner. You give Slate & Serif and its service providers only the limited rights required to operate, secure, support and, when you explicitly choose it, synchronise the service as described in the Privacy Policy.

7. Your account and acceptable use

Keep account credentials, planner locks and recovery material secure. Do not share access, attempt to bypass entitlement or security controls, interfere with the service, upload malicious content, or use the service unlawfully or in a way that harms other people.

We may temporarily restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect an account, investigate fraud or abuse, comply with law, or maintain service security. We will not use this clause to take away rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.

8. Supported devices and availability

The planner is designed for current supported browsers on desktop, laptop, tablet and phone. Internet access is required for account activation and cross-device saving. Browser, operating- system and third-party-service changes may affect compatibility. Planned maintenance or events outside our reasonable control may temporarily interrupt the service.

9. Refunds and consumer rights

Our change-of-mind position and fault process are set out in the Refund Policy. Nothing in these Terms or the Refund Policy excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, remedy or other right that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

10. Changes to these Terms or the service

We may update these Terms to reflect product, security, operational or legal changes. The version shown at purchase applies to that purchase except where a later change is required by law, is necessary for security, or is more favourable to you. We will provide notice where required.

We will not silently convert a paid launch-edition entitlement into a materially shorter access window than the one disclosed at purchase.
